    Overnewton Castle

    Brimbank pioneer William Taylor, who owned 13,000 acres of grazing land around Keilor, started building Overnewton Castle in 1849. Ten years later, following a trip to Scotland, he added the Scottish baronial castle and both exist today; much as they were. Overnewton is now the venue for weddings, functions, high tea and tours; surrounded by magnificent gardens.     The ‘Organ Pipes’ are basalt geological formations, formed by molten lava cooling and cracking about 2.8 million years ago.
